We successfully finished another important volunteering project alongside with Mother and Children Art Foundation, the team of volunteering lived for three days at the school community of Nabingram in Kathmandu, working and experiencing Nepali culture. At their arrival the team from Kearsney college UK received a welcome ceremony and the community offered them white scarf (Khada) together with red tika on their forehead.
Likewise, one of the teachers delivered a welcome speech and after it the team was taken around the project area. After discussing with the chairperson the team agreed on the following tasks: digging drain, digging foundation for retaining walls, making murals and paving concrete blocks. During the first day of work the team was taken to the nearest handcraft shop to purchase materials like: concrete block, stationary items, sport materials and stone dusts.
Moreover, during their stay the team was able to interact with the local community by taking part in cookery class and giving teaching classes to the students. As a farewell the school community organized a closing ceremony in which musical performances from the students were held. White scarf and red tika were also offered at the end of the program.
