4 Nights 5 Days Kathmandu Lhasa Tour

This five day tour of the capital city, Lhasa will give you an opportunity to have an unusual journey of Tibet Buddhism and their culture. This tour covers all the three world heritage sites i.e. Potala Palace, Jokhang temple and Barkhor street. You can visit Serang monastery, troll around Barkhor street and taste the Tibetan tea. Never miss the chance to explore the dramatic monks debate on the Buddhists doctrines in the Sera Monastery.

Itinerary
  • Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.
  • Day 2 : Kathmandu (1300m)-Lhasa (3650m) or Arrival at Lhasa from China
  • Day 3 : Full day sightseeing tour in Lhasa
  • Day 4 : Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery
  • Day 5 : Departure

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport, our representative will welcome you and then transfer to hotel. Check into hotel, get refresh and preparation of Kathmandu Lhasa Tour.

Day 2 Kathmandu (1300m)-Lhasa (3650m) or Arrival at Lhasa from China

Arrival to the Gongaar Airport of Tibet from Kathmandu by Himalayan Flight and drive to Lhasa. On the way, you can seeĀ  the longest and largest river in Tibet named Yarlung Tsangpo river and Lhasa river. After arriving Lhasa, you can take rest and get familiarized with high altitude.

Day 3 Full day sightseeing tour in Lhasa

We will start the day with a visit to Potala palace which is enlisted in World Heritage Site. After lunch, we head to Jokhang Temple, spiritual heart of the city, where you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of 12. Outside you can see pilgrims making prostrating in front of the temple and you can explore old market in Barkhor street and do Kora with locals and pilgrims. We then can taste Tibetan tea with locals at tea house. The welcome dinner will be arranged accordingly.

Day 4 Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery

After breakfast, we head to Drepung Monastery, largest of all Tibetan monasteries, and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture Cravings Workshop near Drepung. You can also visit biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery. Lastly we make a visit to Sera Monastery where you can see colorful Rock Painting of Buddha and three sand Mandalas. In addition, we can tour Tibetan religious scripture printing house.

Stay overnight in Lhasa.

Day 5 Departure

After breakfast drive to Gongarr Airport for a flight to Kathmandu or any other destination.
