Chitwan can be reached from Kathmandu and Pokhara of 4-5 hours driving distance, options by air from Kathmandu of 22 minutes flight to land at Bharatpur airport and drive to your lodge near the park boundary.
Chitwan with more than 43 species of mammals in the park, famous for endangered and elusive “Royal Bengal Tiger”, includes one horned Indian Rhinoceros, fresh water Gharial and Marsh Mugger crocodiles, along with many other common species such as gaur (Asian bison) wild elephants, four horned antelopes, striped hyenas, pangolins, Gangetic dolphins, monitor lizards and pythons.
Other animals found in the park include sambars, chital (spotted deer) barking deer, sloth bear, palm civets, languor’s and rhesus monkeys, also famous for over 450 species of birds.
Among the endangered birds are the Bengal florican, the Giant Hornbill, the Lesser Florican, the Black Stork and White Stork. Common birds seen in the park including Peafowl, Red Jungle fowl, and different species of Egrets, Herons, Kingfishers, Flycatchers and Woodpeckers, the best time for bird watching is around March and December.
More than 45 species of amphibians and reptiles have been recorded in the park, some of which are the Marsh mugger Crocodile, cobras Green Pit Viper and various species of frogs and tortoises.
Chitwan National Park is also an educational field for botanists and zoologists alike, this park is actively engaged in scientific studies and research concerning several species of wild fauna and flora.

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu 1,350m and transfer to hotel on private vehicle.
On reaching Kathmandu International Airport, received by our guide and staff and then transfer to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city.
First check into your hotel rooms after getting refreshed from the flight, where our expert guides will inform regarding hotels, trekking, local lodge and overland drives with do’s and dont’s information.
Day 2 Morning drive to Chitwan by tourist bus- 05 hrs afternoon with time for village tour.
Morning travel by private coach or in tourist bus (depending upon the size of the group) with an exciting overland drive on main Kathmandu to Chitwan highway, leading through Himalayan foothills, on reaching at Tadi Bazaar at Chitwan where short drive leads you to your respective hotels within a place called Sauraha.
On arrival at Chitwan near park premises where hotels are located after checking in with briefing on the jungle activities and programs, after getting refreshed start afternoon activity with short walk to nearby Tharu village, the indigenous tribe of Terai belt, the low and flatland of Nepal. Evening enjoy the dinner with fascinating Tharu (indigenous tribe of southern Terai and Chitwan) cultural dance.
Day 3 Chitwan full day jungle activities (canoe ride in Rapti River, jungle walks, visit elephant breeding center and elephant safari.
Program and activities begins early before breakfast, walk to elephant platform for the ride on elephant backs leading you into dense jungle to witness wildlife in its natural habitat. Other activities includes visit of elephant stables and elephant bathing and briefing. After lunch drive into the jungles as well ride on a dug-out canoe floating on Rapti River where you can see fresh water Gangetic Gharial and Mugger crocodiles, if lucky including fresh water dolphins, and otters.
Morning Bird Watch Tour, Machan (Watch Tower) Tour, Jungle walks, nature walks, elephant and jeep safari with elephant briefing and bathing elephants include more with entertainment of local Tharu cultural programs.
Day 4 Drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu on tourist bus - 05 hrs and transfer to hotel.
Morning start with birds watching program or nature walks where you can spot wide range of exotic bird life from local residential to migratory birds with ducks and egrets, after breakfast drive back to Kathmandu afternoon free with evening farewell dinner includes Nepalese cultural show.
Day 5 Depart for your next destination.
